I traveled to San Francisco CA to visit customers during the day and to explore at night. My favorite parts of the trip were visiting the Golden Gate Bridge, Muir Woods, Twin Points, Russian River Brewery, the inner city and the company campuses of Google, Tesla and Facebook. Another favorite of my was a bar and restaurant called SPIN, which was filled with ping pong tables that could be rented by the hour. We were lucky enough to see two professionals play on the main table as well, which was amazing!
The Golden Gate Bridge, Muir Woods and Twin Points are all tourist spots, and incredibly beautiful to see in person. You can walk the bride, visit the large gift shop or hike/drive to a beautiful view for pictures. Muir Woods has the thickest and tallest trees I've ever seen which makes you feel like you've shrunk or you're hanging out in an over-sized world. Twin Points are two short hikes to 360° views of the city. Another great sport for pictures.
We arrived at Russian River Brewery at 10am, stood in line, and were lucky enough to get a seat at the bar. This brewery was packed on a weekday morning, full of people that were spending hundreds of dollars on cans and bottles to bring home, T-shirts and other paraphernalia related to the company. We shared a 24-one-ounce sampler of their draft selection and enjoyed most of them. Highly recommended if you're in the area!
Facebook and Tesla don't yet have big campuses open for the general public, however they were still exciting to drive through because of their cutting-edge technology achievements. Google, on the other hand, was like parking at an amusement park, walking a half-mile to the action, and there were various things available to see. We were eating at the lunch trucks (free for employees), taking pictures of the buildings, meeting with and seeing numerous employees, laughing at the colorful Google bicycles, and imagining that we worked there. It's free to review and walk around, but you can't go inside.
TRAFFIC! Traveling through the city can be difficult as with most cities. EXPENSIVE! The cost of hotels, food and entertainment is very high in the city, so we stayed a few miles out and used public transportation more often than not. Not that we plan to live there, but the price of real estate was through the roof!
