Bell flexes fundraising muscle
Former U.S. Rep. Chris Bell, a Democrat running against three Republicans for the vacant state Senate District 17 seat, has some new bragging rights. Blue ones, of course.
Between July 28 and Aug. 3, Bell was seventh in fundraising nationally through the ActBlue Internet-donations site, the only state legislative candidate in the Top 10.
According to ActBlue, Bell raised $14,457 — not far behind Sen. Barack Obama, in fourth place with $15,002...
